Neil and Barry attend a casualty care at height course at LYON training in Cumbria. The course was run over 2 days at LYON’s training facility and incorporated appointed person first aid and various scenarios based around work at height emergencies.
Scenarios were based around casualties being:
• Unconscious and/or in seizure
• Wounded or bleeding and/or in shock
• Choking, or who has difficulty breathing due to a crush injury or cervical spine injury
• Thought to have sustained a fracture
• Thought to have sustained a spinal injury
• Suffering from suspension intolerance
• In need of cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Suffering from a minor injury
Neil and Barry both agreed the course was very well run, very informative and highlighted various requirements which we have now implemented at our dedicated training facility in Ashford, Kent.
